Tulsa Trial Lawyers Take Part in Unique Two-Day Seminar

Tulsa Trial Lawyers

Oklahoma Family Lawyers, sitting from left to right, James R. Elder, Aaron D. Bundy, M. Shane Henry, Luke Barteaux and Robert G “Hap” Fry Jr.

The new Robert G Fry Jr. Center for Trial Studies was the site for an intense two-day educational seminar put on by legendary trial lawyer and best-selling author Roger Dodd this past weekend. Limited to just eight attorneys, the private seminar spanned 16 hours over two days and focused on cross -examination techniques that can be used in the courtroom.

Tulsa trial lawyers M. Shane Henry, Aaron D. Bundy and T. Luke Barteuax represented the Tulsa family law firm of Fry & Elder at the two-day seminar. All three said the educational experience will allow them to incorporate additional skills into the courtroom.

“Having the opportunity to train under Roger Dodd has been career changing,” Henry said. “His methodology, his skills and implementation have transformed me as a trial lawyer. I continually want to learn study and improve, but Dodd’s methods have put me in a position to better serve our clients at Fry & Elder.”

Bundy said the seminar might be the most important educational experience he’s received since becoming a Tulsa trial lawyer.

“Roger Dodd is an excellent teacher,” Bundy said. “He is always patient and constructive. Roger and his partner, Patricia Kuendig, contribute to the improvement of trial practice all over the world. I am very thankful for the opportunity to learn from them. Roger’s advanced cross examination clinic is the most important education I have ever received. He helps trial lawyers learn to listen and teach the case in the courtroom in real time. I am thankful that here at Fry & Elder we have a facility for lawyers to learn about trial skills and improve.”

Dodd, who focuses on personal injury and criminal law, is one of just a very few lawyers who has been recognized in multiple states – Florida and Georgia – by Super Lawyers®. In fact, he has become a bit of a celebrity in the legal world, appearing numerous times on such networks as CourtTV, TruTV, CNN, ABC, CBS, and cable TV. He co-authored a book with Larry Pozner titled The Masters of Cross-Examination, which was a best-seller and is known throughout the legal industry as “the bible of cross.”

The two-day seminar was the first of what should be many marquee events held at the Robert G Fry Jr. Center for Trial Studies. The spacious 5,200-square foot facility, which opened in late October, features 13 offices and two conference rooms.

“I’m so thankful for the Robert G Fry Jr. Center for Trial Studies,” Henry said. It gives us an in environment and facility that we can engage in trial skills and become better Tulsa trial lawyers.”
