When Joyce began working in a small law office in 1968, little did she know that she would make it a career. She started as a secretary, working her way to administrative assistant with C. Lawrence Elder, Esq. (Dec.) in 1970. It was during that time that Robert G “Hap” Fry, Jr., came to work in Mr. Elder’s office. Little by little, she became Mr. Fry’s “Girl Friday” after Mr. Elder’s death.
Now, after more than 45 years, she is still working with Mr. Fry as a Financial Paralegal in his Oklahoma family law firm, Fry & Elder, primarily gathering all financial information for alimony cases, child support, and division of property. She also aids the attorneys in the firm by “tracing” assets, and she is also Mr. Fry’s personal financial assistant.
She states: “It is hard to believe that I still get an enjoyment working in the legal field, but I do. Every day is different – still exciting to assist individuals who need legal assistance.”
Away from the office, Joyce enjoys spending time with her family and is a very active member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. She also enjoys reading and scrapbooking.
